I am considering buying an iphone but really want to be able to access internet in most places. Especially to use the map feature... I get lost everywhere.
I considered getting the ipod touch but I'm afraid I won't be able to find wireless in most places.

Wherever there's wireless, you have internet on the iPod touch. For the maps feature, it uses beacons from the nearest wireless towers Apple's partnered with to get your approximate location, even if you're not connected to a wireless network. That way, you can still get directions. More into on that can be found on Apple's website.
